Véron Jongstra

Véron Jongstra began her piano studies with the private piano teacher Jan Kollee. From her 17th on she took lessons at the Music School in Weert. She prepared herself for the entrance examination at the Maastricht Conservatory. Here, in 1984, she started her professional piano major with Avital Schönfeld. She obtained the degree of piano teaching in 1990.

She continued her studies at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Michael Anderson and acquiered the Performing Artist degree in 1993. Moreover she obtained the degree of  choral conductor at the music school SNK in Beek, the Netherlands.

Nowadays Véron teaches at the Music Foundation Region Kerkrade and the Kreato Foundation in Thorn. On a regular basis she is the accompanist of famous solo singers such as Ernst Daniël Smid, Harry Peeters,Hub Claessens, Frans Kokkelmans, Andrea Poddighe, Corinne Romijn, Kim Savelbergh and Janine Kitzen. Next to solo performances, both with orchestras and in recitals, she accompanies choirs, soloists and instrumental musicians.The piano duo Véron Jongstra – Esther Zaad is well-known in music circles.

Véron Jongstra accompanies the Weerter Gemengd Koor “Vivace” on piano and organ. And she is also the second conductor of the choir. Moreover she conducts the Dames Koor in Meijel, the Limburg Project Koor, the Vocal Group “Unique” and the Chèvremont Mannen Koor.
